FAQ

Common questions

Where should a complete beginner start with gold trading?

Start by learning what one lot of gold means before you risk any money. One standard lot is 100 oz and one pip is 0.01, so a small price move is a real peso amount. Practise on a demo account, read how margin and leverage work, and only then consider a live account funded through GCash or bank transfer.

Do I need a large capital to trade gold at all?

You do not need a large balance to open a position, but you need enough to survive normal swings. At the applicable leverage cap, a 0.10-lot gold position needs about $85.50 margin, yet margin is not your risk: the stop distance decides that. Size positions from your risk per trade, not from the minimum margin.

What is the difference between pips and pesos when trading XAU/USD?

A pip on gold is 0.01 in the price, and its peso value depends on your lot size and the USD/PHP rate. On 0.10 lot, or 10 oz, a 0.01 move is about $0.10 before conversion. Our pip value calculator converts that into pesos so you can see what a stop actually costs.

How much should a beginner risk on a single gold trade?

A common starting guideline is to risk a small fixed percentage of your account per trade, decided before you enter. The exact number depends on your capital and tolerance for drawdown. What matters is that the stop distance and lot size are calculated together using the position size calculator, so one loss cannot erase many wins.

Is a demo account enough before going live with real money?

A demo account teaches platform mechanics but not the emotional weight of real pesos at risk. Use it to learn order types, stops and the MT4, MT5 or cTrader layout, then move to a small live size. Demo results do not predict live results, so treat the transition as a separate learning step.
